THE TEACHING SCHOLAR'S PROJECT:
This project has been made possible through the award of the President's Teaching Scholars program sponsored by the Centre for Teaching & Learning and will run for two years (2022 - 2024). The project will explore how mentorship could be used as a strategic tool to enhance the quality of Sessional Instructors' teaching practices and students' learning in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina. The project will rely heavily on the experiences of the Sessional Instructors and a qualitative research design, and a case study methodology will be applied to assess their narratives. Sessional Instructors from both the Regina and Saskatoon campuses will be invited to participate in individual interviews and focus groups for data collection. Study findings will give insights into the efficacy of mentorship in teaching and learning and information about the utility of mentorship programs in university settings.
