In October 2015, Senator Lillian Dyck delivered a presentation at the University of Regina titled The National Tragedy of Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women and Girls. Senator Dyck is a member of George Gordon First Nation and is a well-known advocate for equality in education, employment of women and Indigenous peoples.  She is the first female First Nations and Canadian born Chinese Senator.
